A small wish that became a summer ritual

Some objects quietly become part of your everyday rituals, and our Leeff Stonefire is exactly that. I had wanted this table fireplace for a long time — one of those small wishes that stays somewhere in the back of your mind — until we finally received it as a birthday present. Since then, it has found its place on the table of our lounge set, where it lights up many of our summer evenings.

We have the white version, which fits perfectly with the light gravel stones of our terrace and the cushions of our lounge set. On warm evenings we place it in the middle of the table, where the soft flame creates a calm and intimate glow. It is not a bright light, but something gentler — just enough to mark the moment when day slowly turns into evening.

A simple object, easy to use

The Leeff Stonefire is designed as a small table fireplace that runs on liquid bio-ethanol, a natural fuel that burns cleanly without smoke or soot. That makes it easy to use both indoors and outdoors and during the day we usually bring it back inside where it becomes a quiet decorative piece until the next evening arrives. Its simple shape and neutral colour make it surprisingly easy to combine with other interior and garden accessories.

One of the nicest things is knowing that we are set for many summers to come. We keep a can of bio-ethanol stored away, enough to last for years, ready for spontaneous evenings outside whenever the weather allows it.

Slow evenings by a small flame

The only small limitation is the burning time. A full burner lasts only about half an hour in our experience, after which you need to wait before refilling it again. That short pause slightly interrupts the flow of the evening, but somehow it also slows things down in a pleasant way — a moment to refill a glass, clear the table or simply enjoy the last warmth of the day.

Last summer we used our Stonefire quite often, but I already know that we want to use it even more in the coming season. Some objects quietly shape the rhythm of your home and for us this little flame has become one of those summer rituals. Some things do not need to be big to feel special.
