Ever since I was little, I have been fascinated by minerals. There is something magical about them — how something so raw and natural can also feel delicate, intricate and almost otherworldly. The colors, the shapes, the quiet sparkle when light hits just right… it never stops captivating me.
Over the years, that fascination slowly turned into a small collection. And today, minerals have found their place throughout our home — not hidden away, but thoughtfully integrated into our interior.

A growing collection
My mineral collection did not appear overnight. It grew slowly, piece by piece, whenever I found a stone that truly spoke to me.
Some came from specialized mineral webshops, where it is easy to fall down a rabbit hole of crystals and gemstones. Others I discovered second-hand, which always makes the find feel even more special. Platforms like Vinted and Catawiki have become little treasure hunts for unique minerals and specimens that already carry a story.
I love that each stone feels like a small discovery.

Minerals as interior eyecatchers
Rather than storing my minerals away in a box, I like giving them space in our home. They have become subtle eyecatchers that add personality and natural beauty to different corners.
I display them in several places:
- On a shelf in our bedroom, where a few of my favorite pieces create a calm atmosphere.
- On my nightstand, where smaller stones sit quietly next to my books and lamp.
- On our Tylko bookshelf, where minerals break up the lines of books and objects.
- Next to the TV, adding a soft natural element to an otherwise tech-heavy space.
- And even on our coffee table, where they sometimes spark conversations with guests.
I like to mix them with other decor elements — books, candles, ceramics — so they feel like part of the interior rather than a separate “collection”.

More than just decoration
Although I truly love minerals for their aesthetic beauty, they also play a more personal role for me.
Sometimes I use them during meditation. Holding a stone or simply focusing on it can help me slow down and become more present. Whether it is the grounding feeling of a darker stone or the soft glow of a lighter crystal, they can act as a gentle anchor during quiet moments.
For me, they are a reminder to pause.

Small pieces of nature indoors
In many ways, minerals are tiny pieces of the earth’s history. Formed over thousands — sometimes millions — of years, they bring something ancient and natural into a modern home.
And that contrast is exactly what I love.
A mineral placed on a minimalist shelf or next to a stack of books suddenly adds texture, depth and a sense of wonder.
My collection will probably keep growing slowly over time. But that is part of the joy — discovering new stones, finding the perfect place for them in our home and letting them quietly brighten our everyday spaces.
Sometimes the smallest objects carry the most magic.
